Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. mult. Wolfgang Holzgreve is Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Leipzig University Hospital (2024–2027) and a globally recognized expert in obstetrics, gynecology, and perinatal medicine. He previously served as Medical Director and Chairman of the Board at Bonn University Hospital (2012–2024) and held senior leadership positions at Freiburg University Hospital and Basel University Hospital.
A prolific researcher, Prof. Holzgreve has authored over 630 scientific articles, 16 books, and more than 1,000 lectures, contributing groundbreaking work in fetal-maternal medicine and reproductive health. He holds numerous honorary doctorates, fellowships, and awards, including the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class, and has been recognized internationally for his leadership in medicine.
Prof. Holzgreve has also shaped global healthcare policy through roles in the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, FIGO, and multiple national and international medical societies. He combines clinical expertise with governance and advisory experience, serving on ethics councils, foundations, and healthcare management programs.
